    About Ean B.

I have over 10 years experience with guitar and have transferred that knowledge to learning bass guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, and multiple other stringed and percussive instruments. I have previously taught guitar and bass lessons in a professional setting for two years at a small, local music shop. Here I worked with beginners on fundamentals, as well as some more experienced players who needed help with their songwriting and band compositions. I have played around the area with a few groups, accompanying both guitar and bass. I also have been writing and recording my own original music steadily for the past 7 or 8 years. I regularly study music composition, and develop unique learning strategies and techniques for the purpose of removing the fear and confusion over music theory. My main focus in studying music is learning how parts of a musical group play together, and developing artistic creativity within my own songwriting. Learning these fundamentals allows the creation of music to become both simplified and creatively open. Music made through theory alone tends to lack emotional satisfaction, and music made through creativity alone lacks form and transferability. With the knowledge of both, music becomes an outlet for personal expression that can be molded and formed at the will of the artist. This is my main motivation for giving lessons, to make music understood as simple yet infinitely playful. The greatest musical groups in history had all began with just enough understanding to play together and just enough passion to bring their songs and performances to the next level. When both sides of the mind (logic and creativity) come together, something magical happens for both the listeners and performers. For my personal taste, I find this most often in classic rock. Artists like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, and The Grateful Dead just to name a few. For me, this was the generation where truly timeless music was created and performed. I will often reference the classics and implement their techniques into my lessons. However, If you would prefer any other genre of music I can be flexible. I am a fan of all styles of music! I always like to keep my lesson plan open and flexible, and always aiming towards greater achievements . Whatever your personal musical goals are, we can work together towards reaching them.
