Hello future students and parental units! It is with great passion that I express my love of teaching and my musical journey with you. I grew up in a very musical family in North Carolina. We would travel to many "Old-Time" music festivals, and I would sing and dance to my parents' music, performing often with them. I soon began classical piano lessons when I was six years old. I went to college for music while teaching piano, voice, and songwriting at a local K-8 school and started my own mobile lesson business. I continue to learn new voice and piano techniques today. I work hard to create a safe environment for students to explore their highest music potential through technique, daily practice, and creativity, and I give parents the tools to aid in their children's musical discovery and education at home. I help build their confidence by organizing recitals and have guided many through the songwriting process to bringing a recording studio set-up to the comfort of their home!

Dylan is an entity unto herself; a most gentle soul, incredibly (and beyond) creative, original, mindful, and generous. Never will you meet a brighter ray of sunshine or a more genuine spirit. I always tell Joanna Rose to follow her own lead, to be uniquely wonderful, to follow no, one, individual...with the exception of Dylan. I find myself telling her to look to her mentor, emulate and be encouraged by her, because her mentor will never lead her astray...In no way does Dylan lead her students on any path other than their own. It's a powerful individual that can take someone's talents and help them use those gifts to form their own unique "package" to present to the world. Joanna Rose is forever changed by her connection with Dylan. They met when Joanna was a little First Grader, who was hesitant, but anxious to share her talents with the world! Dylan cradled Joanna Rose in loving kindness, encouraging her to sing, write, and play, POWERFULLY. From deep within her heart, Dylan nurtures, so very naturally. Without Dylan's entrance onto the stage of Joanna Rose's life, Joanna would never have found the part of herself that truly has become her "self." I cannot, as Joanna Rose's mother, have dreamed of more. Thank you Dylan~ It has been a magical eight years... 🔹🎀🔹WE L❤VE YOU!🔹🎀🔹 KINDLY NOTE~ ALL lesson types listed above apply, not simply Piano: Classical Piano Singing Vocal Training Music Performance Ear Training Music Recording Songwriting Music Theory Composition

We had the wonderful opportunity to work w/ Dylan in our home for 2 years. Both of my daughters loved working w/ her & flourished under her tutelage. She is an extremely gifted & dedicated young lady that was able to find the strengths of both of my girls & expand upon them. They studied voice, composition, & classical piano w/ Dylan & I couldn't have been happier w/ how they progressed. We certainly miss Dylan & feel very fortunate in being able to work w/ her.

Dylan is a magnificent musician in her own right, but she also shines in being able to connect with children of all ages and adjust her teaching styles appropriately. She is a literal muse to her students, who begin writing their own music in no time. She provides them with unwavering support and courage to allow them to blossom into their own.

    Experience

    Private Music Instructor

    Aug, 2008 - Dec, 2014

    Friends School Of Wilmington

I worked at Friends School of Wilmington for nearly seven years as their private piano, voice, and songwriting instructor, along with my own mobile music business. I would organize recitals for students to practice performing their music, and as a platform to gain confidence in their abilities and themselves among friends and family. I was so sad to leave when I moved out to Los Angeles early 2015, but I look forward to continuing my music teaching journey out here now! I still Skype with students from home, as well.
