I have studied Classical and Jazz piano for 20 years and attended Shenandoah University for Music Production and Recording Technology with a focus in Jazz Piano and a Classical Piano minor. I have been teaching privately for eight years.

What sets me apart from many other teachers I've worked with is my attention not just the "How," but also the "Why." I find that many students learn how to play what they are told to play, but do not comprehend why it sounds the way it does.

This is where music theory comes into play. If we understand what was going through an artists mind when they composed a piece of music, we can use that information to make conscious decisions in our performance to make it our own.

I am also highly trained in music composition and the art of recording/producing. My lessons are always tailored to the interests of the student.

I am a Classical and Jazz trained pianist with 20 years of combined study under my belt. I also attended Shenandoah University for Music Production and Recording Technology with a focus in Jazz Piano.
