He has also recorded several jazz CDs under the Tritone Record label, as well as performed on various rock CDs with different bands such as Bricqmen, and The Noise Majestic. His new solo CD is entitled “In Transit” on Tritone records. As an educator, he has been teaching music since 1990 and has taught students at all levels and abilities. He enjoys teaching music in several different styles such as: jazz, blues, rock, acoustic, metal, country, classical, R&B, and others as well. Helping the student gain a strong foundation in the fundamentals of music, as well as having fun learning the style of music that the student is most interested in is his main philosophy in teaching. He has prepared many of his students for various kinds of performances in and around the community. Several of his students have gone on to study in performing arts high school programs and music colleges as well. *** Lesson Details *** When studying guitar with Duane, all students will benefit from a musical education that is rooted in the fundamentals of music. Each student will receive a solid, foundation in reading music, building technique and fretboard knowledge, music theory, ear training, chord mastery, and soloing styles. Each student gets to choose the style of music that he or she wishes to learn. Whatever style that the student chooses, will be learned directly from actual recordings, so that all the nuances of that style can be explored. If the student is unsure of the style of music that they would like to learn, the student can learn a little bit from many different popular styles of music. The main focus is that the student gets to the business of PLAYING MUSIC right away. This is what can make playing the guitar fun! *** Studio Equipment *** Amplifiers, cables, stands, teaching materials, etc. *** Specialties *** I teach the basic fundamentals of music, such as; technique, theory, reading, ear training, etc. I also teach many styles of music, and let the student choose which style of music that they prefer to learn.
