Piano with Duane F.

I am a private music instructor living in San Francisco currently teaching piano, composition, theory and ukulele out of my home. I have had my own private studio for about ten years and also taught for several years in the early 1970s in Alameda, where I was living at the time. I am a native of Oakland, California and starting performing in school and church over fifty years ago. I spent most of my career playing piano and composing but in the last ten years, I have learned to sing, play the guitar and the ukulele. I play mostly fingerstyle on the guitar and ukulele and sing songs from my youth (mostly pop, rock and blues). My guitar and ukulele arrangements range from the Beatles to Brazilian Bossa Novas to jazz standards. My philosophy is to allow learning to be an exciting process of discovery and adventure. Nothing is difficult, only unfamiliar. To gain familiarity is all that's needed to master any skiil.
