Teaching since:

Aside from an extensive amount of personal and teaching experience in all of these subjects, I genuinely love connecting with students through music to help them reach their personal goals. I believe that my approach towards learning music is deeply rewarding, engaging, and aids brain development. Below is my bio which details my approach and teaching experience.

Drew received his Bachelors of Music in Jazz and Improvisational Music from the University of Nevada Reno and his Masters of Music in Contemporary Improvisation from New England Conservatory. He teaches guitar, piano, songwriting, and composition with an emphasis on intuitive learning, ear training, and music theory. His background includes jazz, classical, rock, blues, reggae, R&B, hip-hop, electronic music, and improvised music. As an educator he has eight years of experience in private studio and has given workshops at the middle school, high school, and college level including his recent outreach work with the Boston Philharmonic to underfunded schools. Drew approaches each student as an individual with their own goals, needs, experience level, and learning style to create a specialized curriculum that helps propel the student towards their best self and enjoy the process at the same time.

Classical Guitar · In studio

Was strictly interested in playing classical, nylon string guitar, and was a little nervous because Drew is very proficient and accomplished in Jazz and Improvisational guitar, which is a little outside of my interests.

Drew does a fantastic job at teaching classical guitar, and at the same time introduced me to the more modern world of improvisation guitar, which I now enjoy a lot more than before.

I'd highly recommend Drew if someone is interested in a well rounded musical education that goes beyond just playing an instrument. I not only learned a lot of guitar, but feel I'm an all around better musician after taking lessons with Drew

Drew was a very patient instructor with genuine interest in the material he presents. He builds his curriculum around the student's wants and goals. A flexible and impressive musician, I would (and will) recommend Drew to my friends at all levels of guitar/musical proficiency.

I have had the privilege of working with Drew for a few years. I run a music lessons program in Massachusetts in which Drew was a big part of. Every single one of his students and the parents of younger students spoke very highly of Drew and made great progress in the three years he taught them. If you want an engaging and effective approach to learning how to play music then you found the right teacher.

My son and I took lessons together with Drew. Drew was very patient with both of us and was able to adapt to two different learning styles. I highly recommend Drew as an instructor. He is an accomplished musician who lives his art daily. You will not be disappointed.

Drew is an incredible musician and a very talented teacher. He helps make some of the more intimidating parts of playing the guitar seem much more manageable. Anyone that can make barre chords seem comfortable is a great teacher in my book! If you are new to the guitar or a seasoned professional, I'm sure that Drew will help you on your journey to becoming a better musician and artist. Highly recommended!
