About Drew E.

Hello! I'm a former professional music educator with experience in the elementary, junior high and high school band classrooms. I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Wind Band Conducting at The University of Texas at Austin. I hold a Master's Degree in Conducting from the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University where I also took lessons with Dr. Lisa Oberlander, Professor of Clarinet. As a clarinetist, I have performed professionally around my home city of Phoenix, Arizona. I have a degree in Clarinet Performance and Music Education from The University of Arizona where I served as Principal Clarinetist of the internationally renowned UA Wind Ensemble. I have also performed as part of the Phoenix Youth Symphony, concert-master of the Arizona All-State Band and was recently accepted into the World Youth Wind Orchestra Project. I have performed with the Mesa Encore Theater (Fiddler on the Roof, Spamelot, The Music Man) as well as the Center Dance Ensemble, resident dance performance group of the Herberger Center for the Arts in Phoenix, Arizona. I am passionate about making learning the clarinet a fun and enjoyable experience for all players, from the very beginner to students preparing for college auditions. I look forward to working with you!
