My name is Douglas, and I want to help you to not just become a better musician, but enjoy music more. My proficiency is with singing and guitar, but working to the end of improving goes past a specific instrument; there's quite a few very basic ideas that apply to all music.

My goal is to shatter all the misconceptions (too old, no rhythm, wasn't born with it, etc) attached to music, and give you something you can be proud of, and even pass on to others. I specialize in explaining concepts in plain English (no mysticism, abstractions, etc), making them easy to understand, and even easier to apply. All you need to grasp basic music theory is a bit of time, and the belief that you can do it. This I promise you.

The ability to express your emotions through music is one of the greatest gifts you can give or receive, and every time I can help start someone on that path, all the work I put into learning this myself is given back to me a thousand-fold.
