I have a naturally pop-punk voice, which is nice for karaoke nights but not at all ideal for actual singing. Douglas taught me the fundamentals, breaking down my bad habits and imbuing me with new, good ones, such as diaphragm use and the opening of my throat. He's a very kind man, quite patient with novices, and he has the credibility—he was a Vanderbilt Melodore, after all. Most importantly, though, he gets results. My singing voice is no longer breathy or pitchy, and I don't have to be four beers in before I'm confident in sounding good in front of other people.
