I am a violin and viola teacher born and raised in the Baltimore area. I have been teaching private lessons and group classes for the last eight years and studied both performance and pedagogy at some of the best music schools in the country. I most recently completed a Graduate Performance Diploma at Peabody Conservatory, where I also studied pedagogy under Rebecca Henry and Janet Melnicoff-Brown of the Peabody Preparatory. While the majority of my teacher training and professional work has been on the violin, I am a violist at heart. I teach students ages 3 to adult at my home studio in Mount Vernon, and I enjoy working with students who have all different levels of ability and commitment. Everyone is welcome.

Great experience She did a wonderful job teaching Tara. Tara's viola technique really improved this year thanks to Dorothy's patience and hard work. Dorothy never missed a lesson and always came prepared for the next challenge. I must admit that I was hesitant to find a teacher using an on-line service but, Ihave been extremely pleased with our instructor and will miss Dorothy's guidance in our viola lessons.

Feedback for Dorothy Dorothy has fabulous teacher. She is easy to learn from and doesnt get anoyed when you dont get things on the first try. This is great because as an adult I dont learn as quickly. Also, I am a college student (age 20) and she works with my school and work schedules. I really cant say how pleased I am with the quality of her teaching.

First 3 weeks... Thank you for what you have done for Mechelle so far. She enjoys coming to lessons and feels very comfortable working with you. And it's nice to know that she's getting the attention and help that she needs to be successful in learning the viola.
