    About Dorifel A.

I finished the Bachelor of Music Education major in Piano and minor in Voice in Centro Escolar University Philippines. I continue pre-Masteral Degree in The University Of the Philippines but unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish due to some issues but I never stop teaching and continue updating my knowledge in music education. Until I open my Music studio in 2010. I am also a Music Adviser - A member of the bishopric, I supervise the music program in the ward, advises the ward music chairman, and represents the music program in leadership meetings. I serve as a ward organist or pianist in our church I provide prelude and postlude music and accompaniment for hymns at sacrament meeting and other ward meetings as requested. My teaching philosophy is the belief that every child has the ability to develop talents and my task as a teacher is to share my love and passion to music, providing the path by building the skills that will open the door to success and a hope to a lifelong joy of music making and create the environments in which my student will motivate themselves. I am a big believer in teacher-student duets for younger kids. When I was in college I took piano pedagogy and I learned that Playing with the beginning student is one of the best ways to improve their playing, they tend to model their playing from their teacher so that benefits alone is worth it. It does make the simple piece sounds more grown-up. I am an Active member of MTAC (Music Teacher Association of California, MTNA (Music Teacher National Association) and the California Association of Professional Music Teacher. (CAPMT) I have been offering music lesson for over 18 years. I prepare a student for a yearly recital and help them ready in any school performances. According to Dr. Shinichi Suzuki “Musical ability is not an inborn talent but an ability which can be developed. Any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue. The potential of every child is unlimited Did you know? Playing an instrument can lead to brain structural changes within just 15 months that improve motor and auditory skills in young children. (Bergman)

    Private Studio

My studio has a positive and enthusiastic environment to develop such an innate ability to make music. I will tailor the curriculum to match your child’s specific learning needs but of course, I will be using standard Piano books for each level and add some additional activities/pieces that needed for the progress of your child. My goal for them is to 1. Develop or gain positive traits such as increased confidence, discipline, and patience. 2. Enjoy learning and develop Musical proficiency, expression and creativity skills.
