Hello! I am a professional musician with a great passion for teaching violin, viola, and ear training. For a complete bio, please follow this link: http://classicaloccasions.com/donkrishnaswami/bio.html
I am active in the Boston area as a performing musician and teacher. I have collaborated with current and former members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and have performed in orchestras including the Boston Pops, Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of St. Luke's, and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. I have toured domestically from coast to coast with the Boston Pops, and have performed many dozens of times at Carnegie Hall. I have performed as back-up musician with many jazz and pop giants.
I am also a composer, and my music has received critical acclaim from The Seattle Times, The Boston Globe, and Boston Classical Review.
I hold a Master of Music degree in viola and a Bachelor of Music degree in composition from The Juilliard School.
I teach private violin and viola lessons in my home studio. Some of my students have gone on to earn degrees in music and have become professional musicians. Others have continued to pursue their instrument as a hobby in college and onward.
Taught a studio of private violin and viola students, as well as a two-semester ear training course that was required of all music majors.
Taught a studio of viola and violin students during the interim year that Williams College was searching for a full-time professor.
