As a singer with an ongoing career, there is nothing more enjoyable than sharing my international stage experience as well as years of real life technical vocal knowledge with my students, to help them achieve immediate results in their vocal progress regardless of their current level of development. I am graduate in vocal performance from "The Manhattan school of Music" as well as in drama from the "Lee Strasberg theatre and film institute". I strongly believe in sharing the valuable knowledge acquired through years of experience on stage with the people who truly want it most. At the end of our first lesson, you will be equipped with an essential list of singing principles which will serve as a valuable reference for the rest of your life, regardless who you will decide to study with in the future. From the start you will not only begin to learn an enjoyable and healthy approach to singing, but also develop the knowledge and confidence to eventually learn how to keep your voice on a healthy path using the acquired tools in our lessons. For help with international repertoire, I am fluent in Italian, Spanish, Russian and German. Knowledge of proper French singing repertoire and diction. What kind of music speaks to you? Being taught initially as a Classical performer gave me the opportunity to travel, learn several languages, and sing some of the coolest music in the world in front of large audiences. Sincerely looking forward to meet you! Dmitri LESSON DETAILS Unlike other musical instruments the voice is one we can not touch or see. Since every individual feels their body and their voice in a slightly different way, my task is to give the best tools possible so that eventually the student becomes an expert of their own singing instrument. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - The first 10 minutes of the lesson are focused on fun and necessary exercises designed to free the singing apparatus and bring awareness to the body in preparaion for proper voice production (Basically like tuning an instrument). These vocal warmups vary on the singing level and age of the student. Some of these proven to work exercises were made famous by legendary singers such as Giuseppe di Lucca, Enrico Caruso, as well as recent masters of the voice such as Richard Miller. - After carefully choosing the appropriate repertoire for every genre, character, and voice category, we begin immediately improving the technical and interpretative aspect of the student's overall performance. The ultimate goal is to bring out the natural qualities that people call "effortless singing" and "Singing from the heart". Aside from having received vocal advice from some of the best teachers and singers in the world, As a professional actor I will help the student to not only become a vocalist but a real stage performer. My knowledge of several musical styles and fluidity in several languages will serve as a tool to correctly approach musical pieces in most genres.
