17 years ago, I picked up my first guitar. Multiple teachers have helped me develop my craft. Formally, I studied Music at Seminal State College. Professionally, I’ve played in clubs for over a decade. One highlight was playing at the Daytona 500 NASCAR race for a Daytona flash mob event. I also had the distinct pleasure of sharing the stage with one of the members of the group “The Drifters” for many years. What I have learned from other professionals is irreplaceable. These seasons musicians taught me what can’t be taught from a book.
I use all that I have learned from my experiences to help transform individuals into musicians. If you want to play in clubs, I want to give you the tools to do that. If you want a hobby, I want you to be able to play the music you love.
My philosophy for teaching is individualistic. I customize each lesson for my students. Each student has their own strengths and weaknesses. It is the job of the teacher to help inspire the student to develop weaknesses and to identify strengths. Students have different learning styles, preferences, and desired goals.
All this must be taken into consideration by the teacher so that the student can excel.
Some of the areas that will be taught are: Music theory, sight reading, song writing, improvisation, guitar proficiency, chords, scales, etc. We will also go over amps, pedals, tone and much more.
