I am thrilled to be joining the teaching ranks of TakeLessons! Having just recently relocated from Lansing, Michigan in order to pursue a DMA in Voice Performance at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA, voice specialist and instructor Donna G. is excited to work with a new crop of singers. While Donna lived in Lansing, MI, her voice studio facilitated in preparing amateur and professional singers for music and theatre auditions and performances for more than twelve years in the Lansing area. The goal of her voice studio is to promote vocal arts and current activities in the various public schools and communities represented in the studio. Donna also enjoys playing piano, vocal coach accompanying, working with diverse singing styles from classical to musical theatre and jazz/pop, songwriting, and designing individual curricula that allow her students to express themselves in their individually unique ways. Donna looks forward to working with new students from the Winchester area.

My favorite thing about lessons with Donna is that she treats the voice as an instrument. The lessons are not just another method to increase your repertoire. We work on vocal exercises and activities that strengthen the voice. I definitely recommend Donna as a teacher.+ Read More
Just had my first lesson, and I am tremendously excited to go forward! Very qualified, and very easy to work with. I highly recommend Donna if you're considering lessons!
The confidence that Donna has helped me with is priceless. I feel we are achieving my goals.
With only three lessons as yet completed, Donna has help me a great deal to meet my singing goals, and I look forward to our next nine session.
Highly recommended as a singing teacher
I've been taking singing lessons with Donna for about 4 months. I'm a middle-aged guy who took up guitar a few years ago and realized that in order to be a well rounded musician I had to be able to sing. Before I started I was a complete disaster - really no ability to match a pitch with my voice, and very little vocal control. I have made huge progress through working with Donna. She just 'knows what to do' as a vocal teacher. Perhaps as important, her friendly and supportive attitude makes what could be very tense and humiliating (trying to sing when you can't!) into a fun and satisfying experience.
Lauren enjoys these lessons immensely!
Our daughter, Lauren, has shown such an improvement in her ability, confidence and overall approach to singing. She absolutely adores Donna as an instructor and a person. Lauren is also learning to play piano and sings in her school choir. This year she made all district choir. Her mother and I enjoy the expansion of music she is getting from her voice lessons. Thank you very much for a great service! Jeff
