Cello with Dessislava N.

I am a professional cellist who has been teaching and freelancing for more than twenty years. I graduated from Michigan State University with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Cello Performance. I currently teach privately in Chicago and the suburbs students at all ages and stages. I also perform regularly with different groups around the city as well as in smaller string or sometimes jazz combos. While classical music is my favorite, I do love playing other music styles. I have performed throughout Europe, Canada, the United States, and Puerto Rico. I have recorded for Horizons Productions, GBP Studios, Harvest Music Sound and Design, Blue Griffin Recording, INC, Chicago Recording Company, and Uptown Recording. I can be heard on many classical and pop music records as well as on National Public Radio with the Grammy Award winning MSU Children’s Choir and mirabai. One of the classical albums I collaborated on was reviewed with four starts by the BBC music magazine. The students who study with me have very strong foundation, which enables them to perform at the highest level. Every student is unique, but my goal for them all is always the same--to help them develop their full potential!
