    “Rich voiced” mezzo-soprano Desiree M. recently covered the lead role of Francesca in Jason Robert Brown’s The Bridges of Madison County with Media Theatre and was a featured soloist in the DuPont Clifford Brown Jazz Festival in Wilmington, Delaware. Other musical theatre credits include: The Music Man, Godspell, Into the Woods and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Some of Ms. M.’s favorite operatic roles performed include the titles in Serse, Carmen, and L’Italiana in Algeri. She has enjoyed working with Charlottesville Opera, Bel Canto at Caramoor, Connecticut Early Music Festival, Opera Providence, Cape Cod Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Riverside Theater and other companies. Ms. M. has been recognized in the Metropolitan Opera, Palm Beach Opera and Suncoast Opera competitions. An avid performer of oratorio repertoire, solo credits include Mozart’s Requiem and Vesperae solennes de Confessore, Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s Cantata 147, Mendelssohn's Elijah and A Midsummer Night's Dream and more. Desiree M. holds a Master of Music degree in Opera Performance from The Boston Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Stetson University. She is a certified voice instructor through New York Vocal Coaching and also serves as musical theatre faculty at University of the Arts. Ms. M. is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, AEA, MTEA, and was a proud mentor with an organization that provides free voice lessons to underserved communities. Ms. M. is elated to have current and former students performing on Broadway, in national tours, cruise lines, regional theaters, films, commercials, and featured on Spotify and Apple Music. A certified mental health technician through the National Association of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapists, Ms. M. is pursuing her Masters in Counseling at Southwestern College and New Earth Institute. Her private work is dedicated to her vocal studio, which offers voice lessons to beginners, professionals, and individuals who wish to combine therapeutic techniques with singing.
