Welcome to my Takelessons piano studio! I am so glad that you are here. Are you ready to learn in a space that is joyous and center your needs as a student? Whether you are entering my studio virtually or physically, you are entering into a space where your curiosity about music meets my expertise as a lifelong music educator. In each lesson, we will explore, create, and help you advance your ability to play music that you love. Whether you are looking for lessons for your child (or for your inner child), you have come to a teacher who cares about your success and who offers you a space to grow. My skills as an instructor extend far beyond helping you grasp the fundamentals (which I will do). Yes, you will practice scales, chords, sight-reading, and learn music theory. But you will do so in an environment suited to your needs as a whole person. Learning doesn't happen in a vacuum, and we have all been tested and tried these past couple of years. If you want to learn with a teacher who is creative and compassionate and understands the healing power of music, then my studio is likely a good fit for you. I have a degree in music education and a doctorate in education. Suffice it to say I have made teaching my life's work :). I teach beginners thru advanced intermediate piano students as songwriting lessons. I can help you learn to read or play using chords (preferably both). I can also help you lift the level of your playing beyond reading note-to-note so that people will be moved by your music. Kids ages 14 and above, come on! Let's get you making music.
