Derek is a drummer/percussionist from Brooklyn, NY. With over 15 years of experience teaching and performing, he's had over 100 students while maintaining an active performing career playing everything from shows Saudi Princes in Africa to intimate jazz sessions downtown. Having studied Jazz at Western Michigan University, Derek loves helping students open their ears to learning how to more intimately connect and perform the music they love. Recently relocating to Denver, his studio is open for new students. Student's can expect lesson plans unique to their background, personality, learning style, and future goals.
