I graduated from Christopher Newport with a Bachelors of Art in Music and a minor in psychology. I have been teaching for almost 15 years now. I have taught people/children with disabilities, all ages groups, and different culture backgrounds. One thing I've learned from all that time teaching, is that students will learn more and learn faster when they are having fun. Music is a skill you can carry with you for the rest of your life. It is a gift for both yourself and for others around you listening to you play. I do not have a 'one size fits all' approach. I teach what the student wants to learn and point out the basics and fundamentals along the way. I teach theory, comprehension, and understanding so that way you can become independent in your learning. I will give you the tools and methods you need to become the musician you want to become.
