Decker is without a doubt an expert. His teaching style is unorthodox and often very outside the box. He is critical and very honest of your playing. There may be nicer teachers out there but if you want to play well, if you really want to get good, Decker can help you do that, if you are willing to put in the time. If you take lessons from him, be ready to practice because the standard that he holds his students to is fierce, but when you leave, you will be a better for it.

Has a great personality and an inspiring level of talent. His extensive knowledge of all styles, but especially the Swing Era makes learning jazz a fulfilling experience!
