Debra has been teaching private lessons since 2001and is currently available to teach lessons at her studio and online. Her approach to teaching is wholistic, encompassing technique, theory, repertoire, improvisation, composition, arranging, performance techniques, and helping students discover and develop their own personal style. Debra received her training at Berklee College of Music where she was a piano major. She is a passionate Jazz educator, and a member of the Jazz Education Network. She is in demand as a jazz voice and piano teacher. She teaches at Brown University and Wheaton College, and is a certified teacher in Somatic VoiceWork, the LoVetri Method. Debra has helped students learn to play the piano in all styles of music from classical to jazz. Her teaching style is relaxed, warm, and engaging. As an expert in her field, Debra looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals.
