My name is Debbie and I am a midwestern gal who just relocated to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I am a singer, actress, teacher, coach, wife and mother. I have been teaching voice lessons since 2009. I grew up singing in church, local children's choirs, and school concert and show choirs. Singing is a part of me. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Anderson University and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Louisville. I have taught in both the private studio and school settings. I am a professional singer/actress and have worked with various opera and musical theatre companies. Favorite roles include: Ellie May Chipley in Show Boat, Wednesday in The Addams Family Musical, Susan/Karessa in Tick, tick...BOOM!, and Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical the Musical. I have studied many vocal styles and appreciate a variety of techniques. My particular specialty is incorporating a classical technique into musical theatre and contemporary singing. I also like to focus on performance technique within each song. If you are looking for audition coaching for musical theatre or college auditions, I am definitely the teacher for you!
I've spent the last 8 years teaching private lessons with various voice studios and schools in the Indiana and Kentucky.
I taught 7-12 grade music classes that included: choir, voice, piano, guitar, musical theatre and general music. I also music directed and choreographed several musicals and show choir concerts.
I sang in several productions as a member of the Kentucky Opera Chorus. I also had the opportunity to sing a lead role in Show Boat in February of 2016.
