American Sign Language is my native language. My parents, several extended family members and several close friends who are Deaf.
I was an interpreter (my own private practice) for 40+ years. I worked in the legal setting, medical, mental health, education, video-relay, community and interpreted on 18 different cruises and numerous European land tours. I also interpreted two semesters abroad for two different study abroad programs in Florence, Italy.
I have taught, ASL, for 18+ years. I have enjoyed many rich, unique and awesome opportunities in my work as a teacher and as an interpreter. I taught two semesters of ASL with a study abroad programs in Italy. I have been blessed to work with many amazing students, parents and families.
Teaching ASL and exploring Deaf culture is one of my passions.
This teacher changed my life! I can’t say enough about her. Her parents are Deaf and she grew up with first hand knowledge of ASL and Deaf culture. Not only that, but she teaches in a way that helps you truly learn the language.
Having Debbie as an instructor coupled with a sincere passion and motivation to learn this language, you will be on the right path to fluency.
Thank you for being the best of the best!!!
