At the school of dance and music I effectively design and plan curricula for all levels (ages 1.5 yrs - 18 yrs) according to the SDM syllabus and handbook. 

I annually prepare and deliver progressive lesson plans that are created to enhance the technique and the experience of my students. With a focus on fine tuning the skill and proficiency of my students, I implement a smart and injury preventative approach to all styles of dance, while encouraging a fun and expressive learning environment!

I come from a strong Horton background and that is the technique I will teach you.  Sometimes, we will learn the history and several movements from other modern pioneers and techniques, but this class will be heavily based on the Horton technique and class flow. For best results, I recommend beginner dancers to consider coupling their modern lesson with a ballet one as well!

I am a professional dancer with over 24 years of ballet, modern, and jazz training from some of the most elite dance institutions. I am sure to be able to teach you both technique and style.  You will walk away with not only a knowledge of the genre but also an awareness of your body in space and time. Also, I am able to help you use dance as a means of exercise and conditioning.

I love to have fun and I am passionate about sharing my art with others.  I am very patient, and we will move at the student's pace no matter how long it may take to grasp a concept.  Each class is catered toward the student's ability to pick up, thus the class will never be too fast or too slow.  

I am looking forward to helping others find their place in the dance world, as well as introduce dance to new comers!

Dayah taught me throughout summer camp and one year in the regular dance school. Dayah always left room for us to express ourselves and become our own dancer; while she still taught us the core of modern. Throughout the year we all had our own special experience with Dayah whether it was her being our mentor (which I saw her as) or just just being a really rockin' dance teacher. The dance that she choreographed for us gave everyone there own special part and had everyone clapping and out of there seats singing along to Black and White by Michael Jackson. That dance was so impressive that we still use it today. Dayah was a truly extraordinary teacher, and I know that your experience with her will be filled with knowledge and fun.
