I was born and raised in Johnson City, Tennessee and I have spent the majority of my life submerged in music on every level. I learned to play guitar at the age of 7 and have over 27 years of instructing and have been playing for 50 years, with multiple instruments. I have played with the likes of Merle Haggard, Grammy Award Winner Tim Stafford, Rhonda Vincent, Adam Steffey, Barry Bales, John Gardner, Rob Ickes, Charlie Daniels, Trey Hensley and Doc Watson, just to name a few. If you are interested in taking private lessons to reach your musical level of comfort from the novice to the professional, I am your guy. I specialize in teaching young kids and young musicians to help nurture their creative style, but I am also qualified to teach professional and very accomplished musicians alike. I have played on over 1,000 studio sessions. I am starting my 15th year at East Tennessee State University in the Appalachian Studies Department.
