We will work on basic methodologies to start, and then move towards classical pieces, jazz pieces, or both depending on what you would like to learn.
This instrument is very closely tied to the voice and singing therefore, my lessons center around making the flute very connected to the ears by teaching music theory and ear training as we learn the technique. This method will bring the student deeper into the world of music than would ordinarily be achieved by simple technique exercises.

Hello everyone!
My name is David, and I am a NYC based performer, producer, and educator. I have been teaching in the area ever since I left high school to students both young and old. I have a great deal of experience, and offer a focused, yet light and enjoyable lesson that allows for individual input and unique experiences.
I enjoy making sure that while my students are learning the fundamentals of their instrument, they are also learning about the ideas of music theory, ear training, and music appreciation. I feel that these concepts are just as important as learning where to put your fingers, and I think that this approach creates a well rounded player that understands the real depth and amazing potential of music as an art.
