Learn the style of playing the guitar in a format that breaks down and introduces concepts in an easy-to-learn method.
We can explore interacting with the diverse sounds of the guitar through patterns for scales and chords, getting where you want with the beat and your playing to make the bass sound great, and playing along with creative freedom in genres such as Rock, Funk, Punk, Progressive, Metal, Jazz, Pop, Rhythm & Blues, Folk, Nashville & Country, R&B, Hip-Hop and how to play along with anything from the radio.
So there is a wide breadth of styles I can offer inside advice into getting the "sound" of, and I can help you with your timing so no matter what you are playing, it sounds good.

We can take your first steps in music and begin your path with the guitar as well as expand musical knowledge and take your playing to the goals you have.
We will Introduce and dive deeper into subjects such as Music Theory, Sight Reading and more, as you are ready.

I want to get you results as fast as possible. I know the quickest ways to show you what you really need to know to get around the things holding you back now, like finger dexterity, or memorizing patterns, and teach you methods without bad habits that give you the power to go where you want with music as your tool.

We figure out where you want to go, and I will show you the secrets and fastest ways to get the basics and concepts under your thumb so you can get to playing and making music.
We can take our time or move as fast as you are ready to progress through the things necessary for you to achieve your goals and find the most enjoyment from playing your instrument.

I have set the Lesson Durations up for 4 different time periods to accommodate for preferences in learning style. Generally, if you like to take things slower and have time for questions, extras, and processing a longer time slot would be more suitable. If you prefer just to show up , set up, get to work, and go over material, a shorter time period should have plenty of content to fill your journey forth with your instrument.

About David R.

My teaching style comes from listening to the direction you want to take music in your life. I learn what your goals are, and I create an individualized lesson plan that involves the desires of the apprentice musician while also including the necessary skills for growing from where you are.

More important than the advanced techniques I can teach in specific genres, I will bring foundational concepts and imperative insight when listening to any song for a play-a-long. I can show you how to break down musical components and hear parts, pick out the notes, and learn everything you need to bring the music you love to life. My goal with each lesson is to leave a student feeling empowered and inspired with the right things at the right times. Music is a journey, and that's an experience that can't be rushed.

I can relate to a lot of problems that you might be having. I’ve been there before, and can help you through each challenge you face. My students will be heard, and focus will be brought to the root cause of the things you want to improve. Then we will work together to form solutions.

Through these opportunities to make playing fun, I will show you how easy it is to practice the songs you want to play so that they come out sounding how they really should. It will suddenly become easy to fill the gaps in every half-right tab and find the chords by ear as you listen and play along.

You will find elements of the bigger picture coming together in ways you may not have expected. Since music is constantly expanding our own limitations, there is always more we can achieve with it! The path from listener to musician to artist becomes walk-able at your own pace.
