I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in percussion performance from California State University Northridge. During my time there, I was the principal percussionist of the wind ensemble for four consecutive years and played in many orchestras in the Los Angeles area. One of the highlights of my career was playing a concert with the CSUN Orchestra and Serj Tankian, the lead singer of the famous rock band System of a Down. I have been teaching drumline at my old high school since I was a junior in college and since then, I have taught drum set and percussion to several private students with one of those students getting accepted as a music education major at UCLA. I approach each student differently depending on their personality and I try to connect with my students as best as I can in order to teach them in the way that they will learn best. I do not believe in a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to teaching any subject because each person has different strengths and different weaknesses. I also believe strongly in developing motivation in my students because I want to give them the ability to eventually teach themselves when they stop studying with me.+ Read More
