American Sign Language

I always want to teach students for American Sign Language. They learn and able to communicate with Deaf and Hard hearing. It is important for hearing and deaf world about expose of Deaf culture and American Sign Language. For example, my student name John. He want to become police that I need to teach him for American Sign Language before he become police when he will become adult and understand to communicate with Deaf. Other example, my student name Ricky and he worry about his father since he went to war and came back to home with hearing loss and frustrate to communicate with his son. My sharing experience to explain about my family are hearing and they doesn’t learn Sign Language even they knew me about being Deaf and use American Sign Language. I learned to speaking for 12 years and expect to communicate with my family what they didn’t learn Sign Language which it is not fair for trade of communication issue. That why I am expect to teach you for learn Sign Language. I don’t want to see other Deaf people feel left out or abandoned by hearing people. Deaf people do have emotion and feeling what hearing people effect to deaf people to become isolation.

My name is David Katz. I grew up in Pennsylvania. I moved to Texas for graduate school at Lamar University. I always want to be teacher for American Sign Language. I expect hearing students know about Deaf culture and American Sign Language because I have experience with hearing friends and families what they had hard time with me because of barrier communication.

David is well versed in ASL and his skills are excellent. He attended the best deaf college Gallaudet University. At Gallaudet he met a wife verse of Deaf cultures from other countries. That contact and knowledge has made a well rounded Deaf man and empathetic to the needs of all Deaf students. He has a BA in Deaf Cultures and a true advocate for the Deaf community and ASL.
