Greetings, future students. I've been teaching piano for 30 years. I'm a professional pianist working mostly in Manhattan's major hotels. I play all styles of music and so I can teach all styles. Classical (I was accepted to the Juilliard Preparatory School at age 12), pop, jazz, blues, Broadway etc. I believe that learning to play the piano should be an enjoyable experience. Just as Sesame Street came up with the concept that learning can be fun, I do the same. Children as well as adults truly like me. This is extremely important. Thank you for reading my profile.
Davis was my son's teacher when he was at middle school. Great experience, my son enjoyed every minute of it, especially introduction to jazz and blues. Unfornately we have moved but lessons with David had a big impact in my son's decision to exploring piano more and now he is a freshman at UCF, in major piano reformance. Thank you again:)+ Read More
First lesson fantastic - looking forward to more!
"My teacher David is nice and the lessons are easy to understand." Nax K.
I love learning from David! I was taught piano in the past, but David really helps me build on my prior knowledge and elaborate on songs that I only could have dreamed of playing. He's an excellent teacher!
My nephew absolutely love the teacher and the class!
My 6 years old daughter started taking piano lessons with David about a half a year ago. With every lesson her interest is growing. She eagerly waits for lessons and happily makes all homework assignments.
David is highly respectful to his students regardless of their age and not only teaches them how to play music, but also tries to pass them his love to it.
We are extremely happy to have David as our music teacher.
David is awesome. He has a great attitude and is very patient in teaching his students both children and adults. He has an ability to make one feel comfortable in their ability and always challenges his students to become better. He is a great piano performer! One can't help but stop and listen when David plays. My daughter (9 years old at the time) enjoyed David's lessons very much. By attending David's lessons with my daughter, my husband got inspired to start playing again. He studied piano when he was a kid back in Russia, but was totally turned off by a standard method of teaching (just reading the notes without really understanding the music structure). David, on the other hand, has a unique approach of teaching music. He makes you understand what it is that you are learning and view the music piece as patterns that you will be able to recognize in all of the future pieces that you might study. David also teaches his students music from different genres (from classical to jazz to popular) so one never gets bored and starts to deeply understand the structure of every piece. I highly recommend David. All I can tell you is: "Don't miss out!" It might open whole new music horizons for yourself or your children.+ Read More
After David became my children’s piano teacher, they began to look forward to their piano lessons – something that had not occurred with their prior piano teachers. David plays magically and even more important for me than his being a wonderful musician and a fantastic piano teacher is the inspiration that he serves for my kids. It’s clear he loves to teach the standard 12-bar blues in rare styles such as boogie woogie. My older son was so inspired he ended up going to a high school with a music specialty and plans to major in music. We are very grateful to David for igniting what we hope will be a life-long passion for music in our children.+ Read More
I switched to David for my piano lessons after another teacher. I was bored with lessons and it was difficult for me to continue. I didn't feel any interest to continue because all lessons were mechanical repetitions and just practice. Starting with David was like starting everything anew. What a difference. He is wonderful teacher, kind and caring. His love and interest for music is contagious. Lessons became fun and was looking forward to practice with him. I strongly recommend him as a teacher. If you are bored with yours and loosing passion for music - do yourself a favor and switch to David.+ Read More
Growing up I had to play the piano, but I didn't like it. David truly allowed me to fall in love with the instrument and its music! His passion for piano taught me to love and enjoy the music my fingers create! I have never met a more kind-hearted, passionate, talented, and loving piano teacher! He personalizes the classes and allows the student to choose what they would like to learn.+ Read More
When I was young I always sang, even was soloist in the choir and band, but always dreaming to play piano. Two years ago my granddaughter Arielle and I stared taking piano lesson with David. Only POSITIVE thoughts and feeling I have. He is very professional not only as a musician but as a teacher and composer. I am 61 and Arielle is 10 and David teaches us with fully respect. He is very kind, patient and TRULY PROFESSIONAL ARTIST. We always have fan there and I highly recommend David to any one.
My dream come true. Thank you David!!!
My both kids are fortunate to have David as their piano teacher! His lessons are fun, engaging and productive! David takes in my daughters' interests in music and builds lessons around the songs they really enjoy playing. As a parent, I appreciate his flexibility, professionalism and a good scene of humor. He is an intuitive and an inspiring teacher who finds best ways to encourage my young pianists to do the work and enjoy learning.+ Read More
We have known David since my son was 7 years old, now he is almost 17 and he still asks us every sunday if we can take him to David for a piano class. David is a great teacher, he allows kids to choose what music they want to play and always has notes available no matter what ganre, composer, old or contemporary. It helped our son to learn to love and appreciate music. He is always very enthusiastic to meet with David. I think, they even connected on some personal level and could talk about any topic besides music.
David is always professional and treats kids with outmost respect. From very beginning he suggested to meet ones a week and allow our son to have room to breath rather then have a class twice a week and be under pressure with practice between classes. This was different from the previous teacher we had who wanted to make more money and did not care if having class twice a week would put a student in a stressful situation and ultimately lead to dislike having piano classes all together.
Besides David's talent of being a great piano player, he is very patient, has great sense of humor and likable personality that encourages his students to want to spend more time with him. I highly recommend David as a piano teacher.
I took lessons with David for quite a while. I am 20 years old now. When i took lessons i was about 14-15... David is amazing. Not only is he very personable and an incredible talent... but he is also quite legendary. The man HAS stories. I've had several piano teachers in the past, but David is the only one i can TRULY say... impacted my artistic and musical heart as well as my character. He MADE ME want to learn and grow as a pianist without even realizing it. I built a friendship with this man while throughout each lesson. I recommend him to anyone who wants to learn piano, feel the key board the right way, understand and appreciate music the right way.... and lastly... to be taught by truly, an impressive personality. (he also looks like Jim Morrison.)+ Read More
My 2 boys, ages 11 and 12, had been through several piano teachers before finding David. Currently, they have been taking regular lessons with him for 3-4 years. Their love for music and piano have progressively increased along with their skills. This is because David’s teaching methods are a unique blend of theory, classical, and popular music. While their friends are getting bored and burnt out, my kids love to sit down and play without me telling them. David keeps lessons fun, yet focused. It is always a treat when he takes the bench to demonstrate or play a song. And the kids love hearing about his piano career in the Big Apple. 5 stars!! Exceptional pianist, exceptional teacher!+ Read More
My son was taking lessons with David for two years and only stopped because he went away to Carson Long Military Academy.
From the beginning he was excited about the lessons since David really knows how to interest young people in music he himself loves so much. The time spend in his class is always fun and productive.
My son learned not only the music theory, but some history of music, about the lives of the composers,
and now continues his music studies in school he is attending.
I am very grateful to David for instilling the love for music and especially piano music in my son.
David is a wonderful musician and a great teacher. I would highly recommend taking piano lessons with David .
David has performed for our community in Clifton. His selection of music and style are wonderful. He is very interesting because he gives the audience some background about the song he is about to play. I enjoy listening to him and only wish that i could play like him.+ Read More
David performed for our Winthrop Court Community in our clubhouse for the past three years. He is a great performer and pianist, and he has a gentle and pleasant demeanor.

I'm not a musician. For a long time I was dreaming of playing an accordion. Knowing that David is good with accordion I took a few lessons. The results exceeded all my expectations. I couldn't even imagine it would be so easy to play one of my favorite songs. If you have doubts listen to this clip and see for yourself.
I am an adult in my late 40’s and learning piano for the first time, as well as music theory. I chose David as my instructor due to his Julliard training and experience in NYC. I could tell right away (from his initial call) that he is a genuinely thoughtful person, and that quality in David carried throughout my entire lesson and time with him. David was well prepared prior to my lesson as to help what I’m trying to accomplish. He is an excellent listener and is very engaging. David is a true professional. I would highly recommend taking piano lessons with him. I am looking forward to doing my homework and to my next lesson.+ Read More
My two daughters have taken lessons with David for more than five years and have enjoyed every lesson. David is extraordinary! He has amazing talent and plays piano beautifully but more importantly he knows how to teach. My daughters have learned so very much about playing piano, music theory and how to behave during a piano lesson. It is always a pleasure to spend time with David... enjoyable for the entire family.+ Read More
