Tai Chi Chuan

Beginner

A holistic approach. Tai Chi Chuan taught not only for health and meditation, but emphasis placed on self-defense as well.  Academics added to the physical practice.

This form is 36 movements.  Yang style Tai Chi Chuan infused with some Kenpo.  Kicks are typically low.  Focus is placed on conserving energy.  Philosophies of Morihei Ueshiba (founder of Aikido) and Jeet Kune Do are incorporated.

My name is Dave.  I'm originally from Ojai, CA and have been living in Fullerton since 2001 (with the exception of being in Anaheim for a couple of years).

I first began practicing Kenpo Karate in the 1970's and eventually earned a 3rd degree black belt and teaching certification.
I have been studying and practicingTai Chi Chuan for over 15 years and added it to my teaching curriculum a couple of years ago. I chose to go more with Tai Chi's approach to self-defense, infusing elements of Kenpo into it.
