    About David D.

I am a working visual artist living in Chicago. My artworks have been shown in Chicago, New York City, Santa Fe, and St. Louis and are held in private collections across the world. I’ve worked in several different directions over the last 16 years including photo-realism, neo-expressionism, and abstraction. As a way to develop community and exhibit the artwork of others, In 2010 I started an independent publishing company that has released several books with new and emerging contemporary artists and will be releasing its first magazine publication in 2018. Currently, I am also working on several comic book projects that will hopefully be coming out soon! When working with students I strive to help them develop their own personality and techniques. It is important to me that they not only understand how to use materials, but to develop an ability to talk about their artwork in an historical sense. I have a great passion for the visual arts and love to share knowledge and ideas.
