Hi, there! My name is David B. and I look forward to meeting you! I've been teaching private lessons since 1993 and have loved helping my students learn music in a way that not only increases their skill and knowledge, but also builds self esteem, allows for creative expression of themselves and creates lifelong music lovers. I went to St. Vincent College and earned a degree in music education, with a voice concentration and studies in piano and organ, in 1998. I'm a positive, helpful person and my teaching style is demanding yet patient. I strive to push students to be their very best, yet am patient while working to overcome the stumbling blocks we all encounter when learning. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!+ Read More

I was hesitant to start piano lessons but David has been amazing. He's an extremely friendly and patient teacher but the thing that has me rank him so highly is the fact that he always celebrated my successes and never berated for not getting as far as we hoped. For me that was important in an instructor. Also he is totally fine with me bringing in music to learn even if it isn't always the best stuff to learn from.
In short David is the kind of teacher that makes each lesson enjoyable and really helps you learn what's important to you. He has 35 years of experience so you can throw just about anything at him and he'll know what you're talking about. I can't recommend him enough if you are looking for a piano teacher in person.
David is an excellent teacher due to his cheerful attitude, his patience, and his ability to identify the issue that is hampering progress. I picked him specifically due to his years of experience and I can confirm that he is extremely knowledgeable in musical theory and good at explaining it as well. The only issue he might have is that he can be a bit talkative although personally I find it endearing. I Would highly recommend him to anyone that learns best through positive reinforcement.+ Read More
I was feeling a bit apprehensive, but David made me feel at ease. Looking forward to my next lesson!
Amazing first lesson. Can't wait to learn more from David.
Made Lauryn feel more comfortable and relax. He finds out where to start from on the first visit. We are very impressed with David's teaching skills!!!
Even though it was the first lesson my daughter enjoyed a lot cannot wait till next visit
David really worked with my son on his audition song as he is preparing for high school musical audition. Great instruction and constructive feedback. Obvious improvement after one 45 min lesson. David also gave helpful advice regarding auditions and what a director may be looking for.+ Read More
What a wonderful and kind man. My son just had his first lesson with David and in 30 minutes is more confident and excited about preparing for his musical audition. I watched and saw improvement right away. Definitely recommend. Can't wait to hear my son sing after more time with David.+ Read More
David took the time to talk to Angelina and got to know her. I thought he got a lot accomplished at the first lesson and we look forward to another one.
Made me feel good and less nervous.
