    About Dave W.

    First-Call Bass Player, Dave Welsch, has been been performing all styles of music for nearly 50 years. I have been featured on both Electric and Acoustic Basses in Jazz, Pop, Rock, Country, Folk, and Musical Theater. I hold a B.A. in Music from the State University of New York at Oswego. I most recently toured with Grammy Award winning artist, Victor Wooten, featured on Bass, Trumpet, Keyboards, and Vocals. As an Educator, I have taught Private Lessons since 1979 and have been on the Management and Instructional Staff of Victor Wooten’s Center For Music and Nature since its inception in 2000 and at Steve Bailey’s ‘Bass at The Beach’ in Myrtle Beach, SC. As a Personal or Group Coach, I share 45+ years of perspective in Live Performance and the Music Business with clients. I offer Lectures and Clinics covering topics such as: - Reading Standard Notation for Bass - The Whole Language Approach to Learning Music - The Emotional Impact of Film Music - Your Career in Music - Time Management for Musicians - The History of the Bass Guitar As a Production Manager, I have worked with dozens of Special Guest Artists including Stanley Clarke, Anthony Jackson, Will Lee, Omar Hakim, Béla Fleck, Oteil Burbridge, Nate Watts, John Patitucci, Jason Scheff, Chuck Rainey, Rachel Z, Reggie Hamilton, Dennis Chambers, Alphonso Johnson, Mike Gordon, and many more. I worked as a Management Assistant, Personal Assistant and Project Manager for 5-time Grammy Award winning Artist, Victor Wooten from 1998 to 2012. He was Victor’s Tour Manager in 2005, 2007, and 2008. I have also maintained an active career as a Voice-Over artist and actor. I have been featured on commercials, instructional videos and promotional pieces for major corporations and organizations. As an accomplished Audio Editor,I have produced materials for hundreds of Figure Skating programs, radio promotional pieces, news features and long form radio programs.
