I have been playing music since I was 8. I started out playing piano, and picked up the guitar 20 years ago. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and I started giving guitar lessons in high school. A few years ago, I had an accident which claimed some of the fingers on my right hand. I have found that playing guitar has helped not only my physical recovery but also my mental well being. Music has always been an integral part of my life and I feel these days that it has an even more profound effect on me. I enjoy a large variety of musical genres, including but not limited to blues, rock, classical and country. *** Lesson Details *** My lessons are tailored to each students goals. I like a good mix of theory and technique to keep things fun as well as informative. By working on each weeks assignment, students will be able to read music, play along with their favorite songs and understand the fundamentals of music theory. I like to have my students choose a few bands or favorite songs, and then work on the techniques required to play them. Playing along with an album is a little more fun than a metronome in most cases.     *** Travel Equipment *** I have a guitar and tablature. Students must have a instrument and desire. *** Specialties *** Rock, country, bluegrass, blues, rhythm and lead guitar are my strongest areas. I encourage students to learn music theory while training their ears .
