As a self taught guitarist, I know how difficult it can be to get started on the guitar. I started playing when I was in second grade with little to no help. But my passion and desire to learn kept me going. That’s why I believe that confidence and passion is the key before any sort of skill can be learned. I aim to get students excited about guitar and build up passion so a lesson never feels like work by showing them how to play their favorite songs first and explain the fundamentals of the song second.

Hello! My name is Darrell. I’m currently a student online at Berklee College of Music where I am studying recording and producing. Additionally, I’ve been playing guitar since I was in second grade. Music to me is the air I breathe and am truly passionate about it. I always aim to make lessons as fun as possible. If we’re not having fun, what’s the point of putting in all the effort?

I can teach students how to play guitar, read sheet music, understand basic music theory, and even the basics of working in Pro Tools. 

My primary playing style is rock based, but am willing to adjust based on you’re preferred playing style.

I bought my son Mark,  a guitar for his 8th Birthday.  I was very hesitant at signing him up for lessons.  As soon as I met Darrell and he gave my son his first lesson I knew he was the right guy to teach my kid. Darrell has made the experience fun and relaxing and something for my son to look forward to.

Great instructor. Darrell has taught me so much through having lessons.  He has made the lessons fun and exciting and has me wanting to learn more about music.  I have learned how to hold the guitar, and even play my first set of Chords through having lessons.

Darrell is a great instructor.  He has a lot of experience and knowledge of the musical elements as well as teaching. He has made learning & playing music fun and relaxing, a stress free zone.   Highly recommend him.
