Suffolk Public Schools

• Oversaw all aspects of the development, implementation and management of the Even Start Family Literacy Program including providing leadership to this program that integrates early childhood education, adult education (pre-GED; ESL) and literacy, and parenting education into a unified family literacy model • Strengthened collaborative network by coordinating with school and community resources to provide transportation, food services and other support services in order to remove barriers for attendance by families • Coordinated with other programs assisted under Title I, adult education, Head Start, volunteer literacy programs, and other relevant programs

• Expanded, enriched, and formalized Spanish and Music curricula • Developed afterschool educational enrichment programs including a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) based mentoring and robotics program • Established a collaborative network of weekly STEM volunteers including parent volunteers from Pratt • Whitney and Northrop Grumman as well as staff volunteers from NASA and the National Institute of Aerospace. • Secured grant funding to support program activities.
