    About Darcy M.

I am a Charlotte-based teacher. If you would like me to travel further than my travel range, please get in touch and we can probably figure out an arrangement. I recently moved from Chicago, where I was a faculty member at a large Montessori school, working with children ages 3-12. I hold an MA from London’s Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and I previously taught and tutored in Chicago and the surrounding area for ten years. I am also a cum laude graduate of Northwestern University and National Merit Scholar. I see all students as individuals, with unique strengths, needs and personality. I pride myself in being adaptable to different learning styles, and an upbeat, positive person. I teach a variety of ages, levels, and subjects: my experience ranges from kindergarten reading instruction to college essay support; from academics and languages to music and dance; and from large public school classes to private lessons. I invest a lot in my students and get to know each of them personally. With each of my students, we begin with a discussion about goals and expectations. From me, you can expect flexibility, clear communication, and encouragement. Feel free to get in touch with a question!

My husband and I both took lessons from Darcy and she was a great teacher with fantastic curriculum and very accommodating. Very happy with her and how our dance came out.

Darcy is very professional and very easy going and willing to change course when required. She is working not only with my daughter but also keep me posted on her progress. My daughter likes her style and I have seen improvements with my daughter grades... Yes, I will certainly recommend her to anyone.
