I am an award-winning, working actor with over 10 years professional stage and screen experience in classics to world premiere plays at Ford's Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Woolly Mammoth, Kansas City Rep, SIgnature Theatre, Round House, Center Stage, and Everyman Theatre (Company Member), with awards including Best Actor at the Reel Indpendent Extravaganza in DC for the feature film LAST NIGHT, now streaming on Amazon, Best Supporting actor at NOVA Fest in Virginia for the short film RUMINATION, and the Helen Hayes Best Ensemble for WHO's AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? at Ford's Theatre. My approach is to immediately dive in with an unmemorized text--a monologue, short scene, poem, clipping, citation, phone book--and learn script analysis, memorization, character intention, action, persona, need, with an emphasis on developing a method unique to you, the actor. Each lesson will be tailored towards your instinctual responses to direction. I believe acting is a very vulnerable art if done right, and creative expression can most often be found in a safe environment for risk through play. Ultimately my classes are to shape you, as the actor, with an insight into why that is important both artistically and psychologically. Further lessons will also include practical approaches to the business aspects of an actor's career, actor health both physically and mentally, and college audition prep.
