The cello is a gorgeous instrument that deserves to be played beautifully! We will work on sound production, technique, and we will work to build love and passion for the instrument!!

About Danielle F.

Hello! My name is Danielle and I'm a strings teacher (don't worry - I teach the fun stuff too!). I've been playing violin since age 5, viola since age 13, and 'cello since age 18. I have Bachelors Degrees in Violin Performance and Music Education from James Madison University, and I play both Violin and Viola in Symphonicity, the volunteer orchestra in Virginia Beach.

I've taught everything from private lessons to private school to elementary public school to high school orchestra and am a truly passionate teacher. I currently am a high school orchestra director and I love to fill my nights/weekends with private students - that's where the real fun is!

I've taught ages 4-74 and all skill levels. I take particular pride in developing technique and fundamental skills while keeping lessons light hearted and fun! It is my ultimate goal to spark a love and passion for music in each of my students, no matter their ability or age.

I always encourage students to explore music on their own and bring me repertoire that they'd like to play (from their favorite movies, TV shows, video games, etc.). Those are a great and engaging supplement to the solo repertoire I choose!

Send me a message to get to know more about me and my teaching. I look forward to hearing from you!

Danielle was a very intuitive teacher- she listened to my goals, and helped provide me with a clear path toward them, conquering some of the basics, scales, pentatonic, and such... but also some of the more advanced nuances like harmonics and vibrato. If you are trying to learn violin or fiddle, I'd recommend Danielle.

My daughter just had her first lesson with Danielle, I was very nervous about her first lesson bc while I want her to learn, I want her to have fun. She learned a lot in one quick lesson and is anxious to practice and come back for her next lesson!

Danielle has been very patient with my daughter and has not only taught her how to play the violin, she has increased her confidence in herself as she is learning. I would highly recommend Ms. Danielle to anyone who is thinking about taking music lessons.

My son has been playing violin for close to a year now. He has been lucky enough to have Danielle as his instructor that whole time. She makes the lessons fun but challenging. She is extremely encouraging. My son is on the shy side, so when I saw him take the stage to play a solo at the end of the school year, it was awesome. She is a wonderful teacher!
