    Hello, Musical prospective friends, My name is Daniel S. I have been doing music all my life and really developed a desire to become a teacher when I was just 8 years old. Throughout my musical career thus far I have been in numerous vocal groups and instrumental groups. I started with music therapy (which was a blast every week) and then progressed to voice lessons. In middle school, I picked up the trumpet and clarinet for band and also joined the choir program. Throughout high school, I was involved in band and choral groups a lot. When it comes to university I had to make a decision as to what I was going to pursue. I knew that my passion for music education was strong so I decided to work on an Undergraduate in Music Education degree. I graduated in 2020 and now pursuing my Graduate in Music Education.     Daniel was a very hard working student at Melrose-Mindoro Schools. He was my student in choir and performed solos and ensembles for solo/ensemble festivals. He also was in state honors choirs and one national choir in 2011 under Rollo Dilworth.

    I am a retired voice and piano teacher with 45 years of experience including teaching on the High School and university levels as well as performing in concerts and Opera and (still) serving as a Church Musician. Daniel Schlegel was one of my most advanced high school students in applied Voice. He was a talented, hard-working all-round musician and always a gentleman. I helped to prepare him for several auditions and concerts in which he excelled. Some of my most memorable occasions of performing with Mr. Schlegel were accompanying him in vocal competitions and especially at venues in Ireland, where he was warmly received by the Irish listeners. I believe that with his additional training, work ethic and experience teaching young people he would be a fine choice as a voice teacher.
