My name is Daniel, but you can call me Dan. I am currently a Music Teacher with Nassau Boces along with a Music Education graduate from Hofstra University. I was inspired to start studying privately on Saxophone when I was 9 years old. After that I have developed as a musician who can do it all. From composition to improvising, everything about music is appealing to me. I specialize in classical and jazz performance. I have performed with numerous groups on the Hofstra Campus. My most recent performances were with the Hofstra University Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Big Band, and Chorus. I currently am pursuing my graduate degree in Special and General Education. I have experience teaching students with special needs music as it is my primary job at Nassau Boces. My goal as a teacher is to help guide you to find your own sound and motivate yourself to keep playing and develop a love for music like I did. *** Lesson Details *** My lessons will help you become inspired and motivated to perform on your instrument. Above all, lessons will fun and engaging for students where they will develop a passion and love for what they do. Each lesson will begin with fundamental warm ups geared to help build facilitation on your instrument. Repertoire will be discussed in lessons and will cater to your individual playing style. Proper technique and style will be stressed throughout each lesson. Each lesson will end by reflecting upon your progress and thoughts as a student. As a private instrumental teacher I feel my responsibilities are to prepare students for NYSSMA, concerts, auditions, and band rehearsals. My goal is for my students to become inspired. Through inspiration so much can be accomplished! *** Studio Equipment *** My studio is a living room with a music stand, tuner, metronome and music. *** Travel Equipment *** I can bring a music stand, tuner, metronome, and music but I would require students too obtain their own so they can practice efficiently. *** Specialties *** I currently specialize in classical and jazz performance. As a composer I specialize in studying scores and understanding the greats.
