    About Daniel K.

    Canadian guitarist Daniel Karrasch has devoted his life to pushing the boundaries of art with his practice as a musician. Inspired by the living tradition of contemporary music, he has premiered several new works for the guitar in Vancouver and Montreal, working collaboratively with composers including Farshid Samandari, Giorgio Magnanensi, and Brian Lester. A graduate of McGill University, Daniel holds a Master of Guitar Performance as well as a Bachelor of Music from the University of British Columbia. In 2018-2019 he was on Faculty in the department of Music at Douglas College. He has studied privately with Jérôme Ducharme, Guillaume Bourgogne, and Michael Strutt, as well as taken masterclasses with David Leisner, Lorenzo Micheli, Irina Kulikova, and Denis Azabagić. From 2011-2014 Daniel was an active member of the Vancouver Electronic Ensemble, performing extensively in concert and festivals. Daniel currently lives in Montréal where he regularly gives concerts of classical, contemporary, and experimental music. He teaches privately in Verdun, Westmount, and Kirkland, and also runs a concert series at the Mile End Guitar Coop. Daniel plays a 2014 Jeremy Clark Spruce/Maple.
