    About Daniel F.

Hello! My name is Daniel Joseph, though most people call me "Joe". I have a number of passions in life, including academics and music. I have played piano since I was 5 years old and picked up a slew of other instruments along the way (violin, guitar, bass, drums, etc.). I was in a professional boy choir from ages 8-13 and was privileged to sing around the world, in the Vatican, on the TV show 'Dexter', multiple showings for 'Good Morning America', and more! But...piano was always my first love. On the academic side of things, I was privileged to become a professional math, writing, and reading tutor in 2006 with Kumon Centers before branching out with my own practice. I have consistently helped hundreds of students from pre-school to college improve in those two disciplines. I enjoy building friendships with my students and would love to help YOU improve your grades. I missed only one question on my SAT and was accepted to Harvard a few months later (though I chose not to attend). Currently, I am a card-carrying member of MENSA (a High-IQ society whose members must have an IQ within the top 2%). If you want a fun but knowledgeable tutor to help you grow, I'm your man! Musically, I have been trained in the classical and jazz styles, taken part in piano competitions since I was 10 years old, won many awards on the regional and state level, and played with many orchestras, bands, and other groups over the years. I also had a number of years where I played professionally for events and shows. All this to say, I am no stranger to the stage and to what it takes to "make it" in the music world while still remembering why you love the instrument you play. Whether you are wanting to learn how to play the best of Mozart, jam with your friends in a band, or build a strong foundation of musical theory so that you can switch instruments (or impress your loved ones) with ease, I can help. I fervently believe that music and our academic studies are a part of who we are, and if you want to learn how to express yourself on the ivories or with numbers, I'm your man!
