    About Daniel D.

Greetings! Thank you for taking a look at my profile! As someone who was born into a life of music (everyone in my family is an instrumentalist), nothing gives me more joy than to engage in its performance, creation, or teaching. In my earlier years I played on multiple musical theater shows in Florida such as The Addams Family, Spamelot, Once On This Island, Reefer Madness, Five Guys Named Moe, and Chicago, where I played various saxophone, clarinet, and flute parts. After receiving two bachelor's degrees: one in jazz studies and one in clarinet performance, I went on to receive a master's degree in jazz composition at Manhattan School of Music in New York City. During my years of professional performance in New York, I have recorded two original records, one with grammy-level artists such as Ulysses Owens Jr., Reuben Rogers, Christian Sands, and Michael Dease. I have also performed and recorded with Alex Sipiagin, Yotam Silverstein, Gil Goldstein, and Ben Williams. Before moving to New York, I performed with the Disney land All-American College band in Anaheim, California, and then, a few years later, participated in the Betty Carter jazz Ahead program in Washington, D.C. I was also accepted to the Metropole workshop for jazz arrangers in The Netherlands, hosted by Vince mendoza, Becca Stephens, and the Metropole Orchestra, the premiere jazz and pop orchestra in the world. I was accepted among 7 other international composers as the single representative of the United States. Having received rave reviews from famed publications such as jazz music archives, jazz weekly, and all about jazz, my body of work is constantly growing. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in taking lessons!
