I'm a gigging musician and teacher who graduated from Oberlin College in May 2015 with a degree in Musical Studies and Physics. I was on the Division III tennis team there for two years as well. I pride myself on patience and empathy no matter what I teach, whether it feeling the pulse of a complicated drum groove or solving a challenging physics word problem. For music lessons, I strive to bring in a context of genre fluidity and history, so that a student knows where and what to explore on their own even when I am not in the room to show them. Teach after school 1-on-1 vocal lessons with focus on pop music and musical theater, integrating my curriculum with the rock band and general music classes as well.
-Write/arrange and perform parts on drums, keyboards & bass guitar for an eclectic indie rock band based in the Greater New York City area.
-Currently co-producing a 14-song album recording in Brooklyn, NY, co-writing string and horn arrangements and additional keyboard, guitar, and percussion overdubs for this as well.

-Taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade classes on basic prayers taking from the Reform Jewish liturgy. Planned lessons for each class and wrote progress reports and report cards.
