Is your aim to win that next karaoke competition at your local pub, to get that next solo in your church choir, to score the lead in your school's musical, or are you destined to grace stages and auditoriums around the world? From R&B and Jazz to Musical Theatre and Opera, I have sung it all, and I can teach you to, as well! From a young age, I loved to perform. Whether it was just to a group of friends, singing songs we all loved or performing in high school choir groups and musicals, I loved any opportunity to use my voice! Thankfully, early on, I had fantastic voice teachers and coaches to help mold me on my journey. Sometimes the sounds WE hear are not actually the way they sound to others, and having that qualified ear can be a huge factor in making us better as singers, musicians, and performers. My education includes a Bachelor and Master of Music degree in Opera Vocal Performance from the prestigious College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, and for more than a decade, I have performed with opera companies from the East to West Coast, sometimes performing as many as ten shows a week! As a teacher of voice, this real world experience allows me to give my students insight into how to approach singing in a manner that not only helps them be their best karaoke selves, but to sing numerous shows each week if given the opportunity! Each week, we will work on various technical approaches, as well as musical interpretation and acting/dramatic approach, to help my students performances sparkle and shine. Add the fact that I LOVE to have fun while also shooting straight about any issues I hear, and my students are sure to have a blast as they receive practical, insightful information to help them become the best performers they can be!
