    Make beautiful music on the clarinet

    We will use one of the beginner books depending on your level of ability. I want to use scales and exercises to make sure you are getting a good foundation as a clarinet player. We may play duets to help you increase your independence. I want to see you working on a solo also to be performed at recital.

    Teaching someone to learn a musical instrument is my passion! I love watching a person learn and being a part of the process.I am a retired band director with thirty-two years of experience. Many of my former students have gone on to great careers, including a number of band directors around the country,a district manager of a Guitar and Drum Center store and even a trumpet player with the Army in Korea! I was twice listed in "Who's Who in America's Teachers." Prior to that, I spent three years as a bugler in the U.S. Army with the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps near Washington, D.C. Besides all the woodwind, brass and percussion instruments, I play and teach piano and accompany my students at recitals. I have five children of my own in music who perform and teach extensively.

    You can tell Dan has experience being a teacher! Dan is very patient and his attention to my child's learning style and needs is much appreciated. He asks questions and communicates with my child to get to know her, which creates a comfortable and familiar environment. After only 4 lessons my child is excelling and making great strides in improvement. I'm excited to hear my daughter play beautiful music on the piano and I'm positive it won't be much longer until she's playing what moves her soul and writing her own music. Thank you, Mr. Arnold!

    I took piano lessons over 70 years ago and wanted to re-live that experience. I looked up piano lessons and discovered that Dan, a neighbor, gave lessons. Contacted Dan and started with my lessons a few months ago. Dan has a way about him that puts you at ease. Sure he will correct me when I make a mistake but in a way that is reassuring that I am on the right tract. Dan is very positive and always give me enough assignments that will push me to keep improving. I could not have found a better teacher/friend than Dan.
