A motivated and aspiring player leaves endless possibilities behind the kit! Lessons will start with a nice, rudimental warmup to get those hands and muscles warm. We'll focus on playing technique, muscle memory, as well as the key rudiments played by marching drummers and drum set players worldwide. Once we're warm, we'll move to getting that full, solid sound out of the drum set. Focusing again on technique (behind the kit now) and basic patterns to work on getting a great sound. We'll finish up by playing/jamming to your songs of choice, or me playing an instrument (guitar) along with you. You'll leave the lesson eager to practice, learn, and grow as a drummer and musician. I will work with each student individually to set a goal to meet by the next week's lesson. *** Studio Equipment *** Acoustic Drums, DW Drum set/practice pad, single drum pads/practice pads used. *** Travel Equipment *** I provide the material/transcriptions and drumsticks (student should have own pair or purchase a pair soon after first 2 or 3 lessons) *** Specialties *** -hand technique -practicing skills/organization -reading -help each person find their own feel and style that fits them and sounds good
